PROM NIGHT — After surviving a horrible tragedy, Donna has finally moved on and is enjoying her last year of high school. SMART PEOPLE —Lawrence Wetherhold (Dennis Quaid), a widowed, acerbic and self-absorbed literature professor who has alienated his son and turned his daughter into an overachieving, friendless teen, falls for Janet (Sarah Jessica Parker), one of his former students. At the same time his ne'er-do-well brother (Thomas Haden Church) unexpectedly shows up at his door, triggering in him the need to change and reconnect with his family. DINOSAURS ALIVE! 3D — From the sand dunes of Mongolia's Gobi Desert to the sandstone buttes of New Mexico, the film follows American Museum of Natural History paleontologists as they explore some of the greatest dinosaur finds in history. IMAX

DR. SEUSS' HORTON HEARS A WHO! — An imaginative elephant named Horton (voice of Jim Carrey) hears a faint cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Although Horton doesn't know it yet, that speck houses an entire city named Who-ville inhabited by the microscopic Whos, led by the Mayor (voice of Steve Carell). Rated G (20th Century Fox). DRILLBIT TAYLOR — On their first day of high school, three boys (Troy Gentile, Nate Hartley and David Dorfman) meet up with the school bully (Alex Frost). Seeking out protection by placing an ad in Soldier of Fortune magazine, they hear from Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson), a down-on-his luck soldier of fortune who lives a homeless existence on the beach. JUMPER — A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. Discovering that the gift has existed for centuries, he finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between "Jumpers" and those who have sworn to kill them. Stars Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Jamie Bell and Samuel L. Jackson. Rated PG-13 (20th Century Fox). AP

LEATHERHEADS —Dodge Connolly (George Clooney) is determined to guide his pro-football team from bar brawls to packed stadiums in 1925. After the players lose their sponsor, and the entire league faces certain collapse, Dodge convinces Carter Rutherford (John Krasinski), a World War I hero and college football star, to join his ragtag ranks in the hope that he will help the struggling sport capture the country's attention. This new champ is almost too good to be true, and cub reporter Lexie Littleton (Renee Zellweger) aims to prove that's the case. Rated PG-13 (Universal Pictures). MJR, AMC

NEVER BACK DOWN —Jake Tyler (Sean Faris), a kid with a troubled past, has recently moved to Orlando with his family. A star athlete on the football team at home, he is an outsider at his new school with a reputation for being a quick-tempered brawler. A classmate introduces him to the sport known as Mixed Martial Arts and his mentor, Jean Roqua (Djimon Hounsou). Rated PG-13 (Summit Eentertainment). MJR

NIM'S ISLAND — Nim's Island is a magical place ruled by a young girl's (Abigail Breslin) imagination that mirrors the world of her favorite literary character, Alex Rover, the world's greatest adventurer. When Nim's father goes missing from their island, a twist of fate brings her together with the books' author, Alexandra (Jodie Foster), and they must find the strength to conquer Nim's Island. PENELOPE — Penelope Wilhern (Christina Ricci), afflicted by the Wilhern spell that can only be broken when she finds love, is hidden away in her family's estate, meeting a string of suitors in her parents' attempt to break the curse. THE RUINS — Based on Scott Smith's best-seller, the story follows a group of friends who become entangled in a brutal struggle for survival after visiting a remote archaeological dig in the Mexican jungle, where they discover something deadly living among the ruins. Stars Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, Shawn Ashmore, Laura Ramsey and Joe Anderson. Rated R (Paramount Pictures). MJR, AMC

RUN FAT BOY RUN —Five years ago Dennis (Simon Pegg) backed out of marrying his pregnant fiancee, Libby (Thandie Newton). He enters a marathon to show he's more than a quitter. Nobody gives him a chance but Dennis knows this is his only hope to be more than a running joke. Also stars Hank Azaria and Dylan Moran. Rated PG-13 (Picturehouse). MJR

SEA MONSTERS 3D: A PREHISTORIC ADVENTURE — Photo-realistic computer-generated animation transports audiences back to the Late Cretaceous period, when a great inland sea divided North America in two. IMAX

SEMI-PRO — Set in 1976 against the backdrop of the maverick American Basketball Association, Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell), used the profits from his one hit song to buy a basketball team. His franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA. Rated R (New Line Cinema). AP

SHINE A LIGHT — Filmmaker Martin Scorsese's documentary shows the world of the Rolling Stones in concert at the famed Beacon Theatre in New York City in fall 2006. Rated PG-13 (Paramount Classics). MJR, IMAX

SHUTTER — A newly married couple discovers disturbing, ghostly images in photographs they develop after a tragic accident. THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES — Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family moves into a secluded old house owned by their great-great Uncle Arthur Spiderwick. STEP UP 2 THE STREETS — In this follow-up to "Step Up," rebellious street dancer Andie (Briana Evigan) lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, fighting to fit in while trying to hold onto her old life. She and the school's hottest dancer (Robert Hoffman) form a crew of classmate outcasts to compete in an underground dance battle. Rated PG-13 (Touchstone Pictures). AP

STOP-LOSS — Decorated Iraq war hero Sgt. Brandon King (Ryan Philippe) makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty. Then, against Brandon's will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq, testing everything he believes in. Also stars Channing Tatum, Abbie Cornish, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Timothy Olyphant. 10,000 B.C. — In a remote mountain tribe, a young hunter, D'Leh (Steven Strait), finds his heart's passion, the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle). TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS — A single mother living in inner city Chicago, Brenda struggles to support her three children. UNDER THE SAME MOON — After his grandmother dies, 9-year-old Carlitos (Adrian Alonso) leaves his Mexican village to search for his mother, Rosario (Kate del Castillo), an illegal worker in Los Angeles. Facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles with determination and optimism, the boy earns the grudging respect and affection of a reluctant protector, a middle-aged migrant worker, Enrique (Eugenio Derbez), who helps him find his mother.
