St. George Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Greek Fest from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church, 16300 Dix-Toledo Road, Southgate.

The event includes traditional Greek food and music, a playground area, Greek dance groups and a cash bar.

Hike along the river trail to get up close and personal with shorebirds and waterfowl during "Riverbank Ramble" at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Oakwoods Metropark in Huron Township. A $2-per-person fee applies.

Compare freshwater systems from Asia to America during "Planet Earth: Freshwater Wonderland" at 6 p.m. tomorrow for a $4 fee.

Solve some of the wood's mysteries during "Woodland Riddles" at 10 a.m. Aug. 30 for a $2 per person fee.

Dig your way into the past during "Archaeology Saturday" at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Marshlands Museum and Nature Center of Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown Township.

Participants should wear old clothes and bring gloves and a flat trowel.

See some of the park photos taken by visitors during "Picture Your Park — Visitor Photo Presentation" at 2 p.m. Sunday for a $2-a-person fee.

Make "Critter Contact" at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 30 when preschoolers and kindergarteners get up close to furry critters and make crafts.

Get into the swing of things with Ladies' Golf Clinics at Huron-Clinton Metroparks.

Seasoned instructors teach the clinics and include nine holes of golf. Preregistration is required.

The clinics are designed for beginning golfers and limited to 20 women per clinic.

Participants will learn proper grip, stance and swing as well as chipping and putting.

The cost is $35 plus a $4 metropark vehicle entry permit. Golfers should bring their own clubs.

Clinics will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. tomorrow at Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown Township and from 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 30 at Willow Metropark in New Boston.

The 36th annual Polish Festival takes over Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2609 10th Street, Wyandotte, today through Sunday.

Enjoy Polish music, food, a game tent, hourly 50/50 raffles and dancing during the free event.

A grand raffle features a $20,000 first prize.

Music runs from 5 to 11 p.m. today and features Stas Golanka & the Chicago Masters as well as Jimmy K & the Ethnic Jazz. Fish fry dinners at 4 p.m. cost $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 and younger.

Kenny Konopka's Polka CafÈ is on tap tomorrow, along with Stephanie Pietrzak, Eddie Blazonczyk & the Versatones, Glass Town Sound and Echos of Poland dancers. Roasted chicken dinners at 3 p.m. are $8 for adults and $4 for children.

The PRCU Rogalin Polish Dancers show off their moves Sunday followed by Dyna Brass, Stephanie Pietrzak and Eddie Blazonczyk & the Versatones. Boneless pork chop dinners will be available at 1 p.m. at $9 for adults and $4 for children.

Check out some sweet rides during "Cruzin' in the Park Swap Meet and Car Event" at Lower Huron Metropark near Belleville today through Sunday.

Hundreds of classic cars and hot rods will be on display.

Other events include a swap meet, charity pancake breakfast and the Pat Marshall Memorial Cruise.

Raffles, 50/50 drawings, car contests and a coloring contest round out the fun.

Enjoy the "Dog Days of Summer" and let your pooch make a splash from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Kennedy Aquatic Center, 3101 West Road, Trenton.

There is a limit of one dog per handler and a $5 per dog fee applies. Spectators without pets are welcome for a $5 fee.

Registration will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dogs must be licensed, and owners must have proof of vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella.

Contests for best doggie swim suits, owner-pet look-alikes and more will be held. Games will include fetch in the water, a farthest jump competition and more.

Dr. Gregory Raspbury of Village Animal Healthcare will be on hand to provide veterinary information, and a host of pet organizations will offer information and merchandise.

Give your dog a "Splish Splash Doggie Bath" until 4 p.m. for a donation to The Information Center's "Helping Angels" program.

Metro Pro Wrestling will present "Title Turmoil," a showcase of seven wrestling matches, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Arc Hall, 4212 13th St., Wyandotte.

Hailey Hatred, Johnny Dynamo, Jaimy Coxxx and MPW cruiserweight champion Kid Hybrid will be among the wrestlers battling it out in the ring.

Greenfield Village in Dearborn is offering a host of programs and activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Model T.

Activities include Model T rides, a Model T medley concert, an old car festival and presentations about Henry Ford's life and achievements.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $19 for senior citizens ages 62 and older and $14 for children ages 5 to 12. Children younger than age 5 are admitted free.

In conjunction with the centennial anniversary, "Lunch and 'T' at the Henry Ford Estate" will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30.

Enjoy a commemorative tour of Henry Ford's powerhouse and garage, view his vehicles and get an in-depth look at a 1916 running Model T, along with lunch in the historic Tea House in Clara's Rose Garden.

Model T owners can show off their Tin Lizzies during "Visit Greenfield Village with your Model T" from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Sept. 28.

A special ticket package will provide car owners with two village admissions, access to drive and park their Model T in the village, $20 in fun money, a commemorative gift and a photo opportunity.

The event is open to Model T's of any year and individuals or clubs of up to 75 cars.
