Say goodbye to summer at the St. Pius X Festival, 140 Superior, Southgate, today through Sunday.

The three-day celebration features carnival rides, games, a bingo tent, entertainment and food.

Entertainment includes Seventh Avenue Band from 7 to 11 p.m. today, Vocal Point from 2 to 6 p.m. tomorrow, Channel 6 Band from 7 to 11 p.m. tomorrow, a polka Mass with Pan Franek & Zosia at 11:30 a.m. Sunday and Little Davy & the Diplomats from 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday.

A fish fry dinner will be served today and stuffed cabbage is on the menu tomorrow. Chicken dinners will fill hungry bellies on Sunday.

A grand raffle will award a $12,000 first prize with second, third and fourth prizes of $1,000 each.

The festival runs from 5 to 11 p.m. today, 1 to 11 p.m. tomorrow and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

Solve some of the wood's mysteries during "Woodland Riddles" at 10 a.m. tomorrow for a $2 per person fee at Oakwoods Metropark in Huron Township.

Make "Critter Contact" at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow when preschoolers and kindergartners get up close with furry critters and make crafts at the Marshlands Museum and Nature Center of Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown Township.

Try your hand at carving a canvasback duck decoy head during "Make it at the Marsh — Decoy Head" at 2 p.m. Sunday for a $5 fee.

Get into the swing of things with a Ladies' Golf Clinic from 2 to 3 p.m. tomorrow at Willow Metropark in New Boston.

Seasoned instructors teach the clinics, which include nine holes of golf. Preregistration is required.

The clinics are designed for beginning golfers, and are limited to 20 women per clinic.

Participants will learn proper grip, stance and swing as well as chipping and putting.

The cost is $35 plus the $4 metropark vehicle entry permit. Golfers should bring their own clubs.

Enjoy the "Dog Days of Summer" and let your pooch make a splash from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Kennedy Aquatic Center, 3101 West Road, Trenton.

There is a limit of one dog per handler and a $5 per dog fee applies. Spectators without pets are welcome for a $5 fee.

Registration will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dogs must be licensed, and owners must have proof of vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella.

Contests for best doggie swim suits, owner-pet look-alikes and more will be held. Games will include fetch in the water, a farthest jump competition and more.

Dr. Gregory Raspbury of Village Animal Healthcare will be on hand to provide veterinary information, and a host of pet organizations will offer information and merchandise.

Give your dog a "Splish Splash Doggie Bath" until 4 p.m. for a donation to The Information Center's "Helping Angels" program.

Furry friends also can keep cool from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 during "Dog Day at the Pool" at Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown Township.

Owners must bring their dog's current license and proof of vaccinations, including rabies and bordetella.

The cost is $5 for each dog and owner; $3 for each additional person.

Owners can preregister their pooches or register on the day of the event.

Tickets are on sale for the annual Taylor Firefighters Ball, set for Sept. 13 at the All Saints Knights of Columbus hall, 24900 Brest Road.

The event features dinner, dancing, an open bar, door prizes and a $1,000 grand prize vacation package.

Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.

Metro Pro Wrestling will present "Title Turmoil," a showcase of seven wrestling matches, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Arc Hall, 4212 13th St., Wyandotte.

Hailey Hatred, Johnny Dynamo, Jaimy Coxxx and MPW cruiserweight champion Kid Hybrid will be among the wrestlers battling it out in the ring.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and younger. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The 44th annual St. Alfred Parish Fall Festival is set for Sept. 12 to 14 at the church, 9500 Banner, Taylor.

Ethnic dinners, 50/50 drawings, a Vegas tent, games, rides and face painting are part of the free festival.

Country music radio station 99.5 WYCD-FM will broadcast live from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 12.

Entertainment includes The Reflections from 7 to 11 p.m. Sept. 12; Legend the Band from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 13 followed by 56 Daze from 7 to 11 p.m.; Polka Party from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 followed by Steve King & the Dittilies from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

A Polish Mass is set for noon Sept. 14 in the big tent.

The 61st annual Pointe Mouillee Waterfowl Festival wings its way into town from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20 and 21.

The outdoor event includes a bevy of feathered fun from a wildlife arts and crafts show and a huge outdoor trading post to the Midwest Duck & Fish Decoy Contest and championship goose and duck calling.

Waterfowl workshops will be offered Sept. 20. Children's games and food will fill both days.

Pointe Mouillee is at 37205 Mouillee Road, Rockwood, in the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge.

The Great Lakes Sporting Collectibles Show will kick things off from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Holiday Inn Express, 1225 N. Dixie Hwy., Monroe.

Greenfield Village in Dearborn is offering a host of programs and activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Model T.

Activities include Model T rides, a Model T medley concert, an old car festival and presentations about Henry Ford's life and achievements.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $19 for senior citizens ages 62 and older and $14 for children ages 5 to 12. Children younger than age 5 are admitted free.

In conjunction with the centennial anniversary, "Lunch and 'T' at the Henry Ford Estate" will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Enjoy a commemorative tour of Henry Ford's powerhouse and garage, view his vehicles and get an in-depth look at a 1916 running Model T, along with lunch in the historic Tea House in Clara's Rose Garden.
