Margaret Haley of Trenton will speak about her experience at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders in Washington, D.C., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Westfield Activities Center, 2700 Westfield, Trenton.
Haley attended the conference, titled "Leadership for Today and Tomorrow," courtesy of the American Association of University Women Wyandotte-Downriver and the Ann Arbor branch of the organization.
The conference provides students with opportunities to discover and enhance leadership skills, build relationships, network for the future, and meet national experts and workplace leaders.
Promise Keepers founder and former University of Colorado football coach Bill McCartney will be the featured speaker at an Auction for At-Risk Youth from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at Orlando Familia Banquet Center, 15001 Sibley, Riverview.
McCartney will discuss ministering to at-risk youth and winning back-to-back national football championships in 1989 and 1990.
Live and silent auctions, an open bar and hors d'oeuvres are part of the event. A VIP reception will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.
All proceeds from the event go to Ministering His Love, a nonprofit Christian group that provides subsidized counseling and mentoring to youths and their families.

Traditional Tibetan Buddhist Karma Tsondru will give a presentation titled, "The Inseparability of Wisdom and Compassion," from 3 to 5 p.m. tomorrow and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Executive Installations Building, 1225 East Third St., Monroe.
Tsondru has spent the past 32 years studying and practicing Buddhism in India, Nepal and the West.
The presentation will be an introduction to Tibetan Buddhism followed by a question-and-answer session.
An ongoing series of teachings, study groups and retreats also will be offered.
